Your traumatic experience is what many women unnecessarily have to go through. "Unnecessarily" because the ones who tell you about risk have no formal training in how to read and COMMUNICATE statistics to the layperson. Just think about the situation when your mammography result comes back positive (that is, requiring further investigation). Did you know that a positive test means a 90% chance that you do NOT have BC? I have seen enough women suffer because of the general ignorance about risk and how to interpret test results, that I have written an article specifically for this audience "Mis-Informed Consent: Mammography Screening And Its Needless Anxiety".
It may help you and your readers to rid yourself of this needless anxiety
