What you are experiencing, or rather the extent of it, is super-sized in comparison to the increase in AI-generated responses that I receive. But I noted an uptick, too. When my inner BS alarm tells me a comment is AI-drivel, I run it through copyleaks, which in almost all cases confirms my superstition. I then respond, saying that I appreciate the effort, but that his/her comment has been flagged as 100% AI, and that I prefer comments from a warm brain. The reactions range from (sudden deletion of their comment) to excuses that their poor command of English necessitates AI assistance. Which is BS. So my next step is invariably to block them and alert Medium to them.

I'm as annoyed as you or any other genuine writer here on Medium. I believe that Medium is trying their best to eliminate these bottom feeders, but I also think they can't 100% cleanse this platform. As is the case whenever the forces that be can't provide the security we expect from them, a certain degree of vigilantism is justified. So, let's go after those suckers wherever we encounter them, and block and report them.
