Unfortunately, it is, as you say, outside my wheelhouse, but I absolutely share your skepticism.

My admittedly unpopular opinion is that instead of whining about who or what causes climate change (which is difficult to prove anyway because we have no "control" planet, similar to control subjects in medical science), we should start to accept the fact that we probably can't reverse it anymore. Instead of gluing themselves to concrete, damaging art, or doing all sorts of stupid protests, that generation that does most of the whining, should start to learn, study, and apply their knowledge to develop technologies that deal with the fallout of the inevitable climate change. Currently, many ingenious engineers and scientists are doing that already with very promising technologies coming out of their labs. But that's probably too much to ask of a mollycoddled generation that has been brought up with the expectation that everything just has to fall into their lap, and if that doesn't happen, whining and fingerpointing is the only acceptable remedy.
