Thanks, Vern, for your insights. Fully agree with you. I once had a client whom I took on pro bono. I did that because he was very committed to change his lifestyle to lower his blood pressure. Everything went very well, his BP came down, he could even get his doctor to de-prescribe his meds. Then one day he was all excitedly telling me about a chriopractor/homeopath whom he had consulted, and he was very impressed that the guy spent 90 minutes with him etc.etc. Then he told me that the guy's charges were € 250, plus some useless microbiome analysis. What annoyed me, was that I had spent many hours with that client, never charging him a cent. I told him it's either the BSer or me, and that I'm going to charge him from hereon. Never heard of him anymore. It seems, to some people BS beats facts and science hands down. We can't help everyone.

With respect to the paywalled studies: Try sci-hub.ee if youhaven't done already. A lot of paywalled papers are accessible in a "bootlegged" way. I use the site quite regularly. But if you are a scientist, and set up your profile on ResearchGate, you can ask the authors of a paywalled paper to let you have a version of it. Most of the time the authors share happily.

So, now I have to read the articles you mentioned, specifically the last one is up my alley. Looking forward to the read.
