Thanks, Steve. Just as an aside: the most common condition of fatty liver disease is NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) which is most often the result of obesity and diabetes. And the best "medication" against alcohol-induced liver impairment is exercise. Just accumulating one hour per week of exercise performed at >7.5 METs (the equivalent of running at 5 mph), dramatically reduces that risk.
So, maybe running to the pub instead driving there might be a good recipe (just kidding).
