Your cardiologist's diminishing concern is probably due to the fact that CAC scores scale with age, that is, the older we get, the more likely are CAC deposits. And CAC does not necessarily equate with vessel narrowing or blockage. The distribution may be of a more diffuse type. Your stellar performance on the treadmill not only attests to sterling heart health but also to cardiorespiratory fitness, that is, the ability to take up oxygen (your lungs), the ability to transport it (heart and vessels), and the ability to utilize it (muscle). Congrats on that, Scott!
