Thanks, Richard, for your kind appreciation and for sharing your experience. If I have given you the impression that I don't subscribe to exercise as a BP-lowering strategy, then I have obviously given the wrong impression. I'm a fan of exercise for that purpose (and many others). Specifically its effect on vascular function when exercise is performed at suitably high intensity, which I have outlined in previous posts on biological aging and vascular function. My issue with the study that I quoted in this article is (a) its representation in the media, and (b) its cross-sectional design, which does not lend itself well to the conclusions drawn.
By all means, Richard, keep up the exercise for your BP control.
