Thanks, Julia, for sharing your experience. Your way of working on those biomarkers through lifestyle optimization is commendable. I wouldn't look at triglycerides in isolation, though. Particularly if they are just above the normal level (150 mg/dL). More informative is the TG/HDL-C ratio. Ideally, it is as low as possible, which, of course, is not a very helpful statement, but I wouldn't be too worried if it is less than 2.5. The problem with this biomarker (TG/HDL-C) is that, while it correlates with risk, its predictive power is not that good.

To eliminate fructose from your diet is a very good strategy, as it promotes TG and Cho. As I mentioned in my post, the benchmark for the effects of lifestyle and pharmacological interventions is vascular function.
