Thanks for your thoughts, Susan. I understand your criticism of the healthcare system in general, though, as a non-US resident, I can't judge that particular system.
The system here in Germany is fundamentally different from the US system, as we have compulsory health insurance for every citizen.
However, we also face problems with an overboarding bureaucratic load on doctors and other issues.
My gripe with the health care system in general is that it is designed around the profitability of treating disease vs. preventing it. Every agent in the system (from doctors to pharmaceutical companies) earns their income from treating disease, but nothing from preventing it. Unless we solve this issue, the efficiency of our healthcare system will remain sub-par.
