Thanks, Dan, for your insightful exploration of the subject.

My intro that you highlighted was directed at the (inaccurate) generalization of HP diets as the cure-all for fat accumulation and premature aging.

As you correctly interpreted, it is the combination with exercise that gives HP diets their health promoting edge.

Your final para makes the point that is central to my work: only when we perfectly match our lifestyle habits with our genetic predisposition will we achieve optimal health. Exercise is one of teh non-negotiable habits. At interindividually different levels of volume, intensity and frequency, of course. These interindividual differences apply to all other helaht recommendations too. That's why my focus is on helping people to find their ideal match, that is, find the minimum viable health habits, if you will, to extend lifespan and healthspan. That's far more agreeable than trying to force a set of rules on everyone when not everyone needs to abide by all rules.
