Oh my God, Kylie, I’m so sorry that I caused you so much anguish and that I didn’t reply to your first response to put your mind at ease right away, because after reading it, I got the impression that I had upset you, which wasn’t my intention at all. And totally NO, I don’t think you have the IQ of a golf ball. Nothing could be further from the truth. And also totally NO, you didn’t offend me at all. Your second reading of my comment is spot-on. That’s the message I wanted to convey to you.

The reason why I wasn’t as quick to respond as I should have been is that I had to finish my latest submission to, Adrian, my editor, because I promised to deliver by the latest today. I was struggling a bit with that post, because there is so much more on its subject that I couldn’t make up my mind what to cut out and what not. But that’s beside the point, now.

So, rest assured, I DID NOT take offence.

I’m the one who should apologize, which I do herewith, for being sloppy with my words. I always read my messages to people at least twice to make sure that I don’t cause any misunderstanding. Even then, sometimes I don’t succeed. I certainly did not want to cause you anguish, I wanted to tell you how I think about that psychological matter and the ADHD diagnoses. I admit that my view is probably tainted in a generational way. I grew up with a sound skepticism about psychology in general as it is no hard science (not in my eyes, but then again, the generational thing might taint my view).

To reassure you once again: first, you are an intelligent woman, it oozes through your writing. Intelligence isn’t measured only by how well you do in math or science, there is a lot more to it.

Second, if your ADHD diagnosis enables you to take the stress out of the situations that have always made you struggle, then by all means that’s the right thing for you. Because, at the end of the day, that’s what psychology should be all about: making you feel better and cope better.

So rest assured, I never took offence, and I never meant bad!
