It takes guts to move to another country, so, chapeau, Matt. Particularly when that new country is Germany. Trust me, I know, I am German. I left in 1985, came back in 2013, (I had moved to 5 different countries on three continents during that time). When I came back, I didn't intend to stay long, but it's been 11 years now. It's embarrassing to see the little command of English my fellow Germans have. My wife's mother tongue is English and Chinese, and she has problems learning German. So, I know how difficult it can be here.

And I'm fully with you on the "reading the map" part. My wife thinks it's a man thing. We don't ask, we find out by ourselves.
