It might interest you to read John PA Ioannidis' latest paper on "precocious" authors, that is, young career scientists who make it into the top-cited ranks of authors in their fields within 5-8 years after their first publication. These authors publish, on average, more than one paper per week and have a high rate of self-referencing. The number of those high-achievers has been growing exponentially over the past 4 years. While there might be some genuine over-achievers, my guess is that most are not. The threat to the credibility of research grows everywhere. You find Ioannidis's paper in the bioRxive preprint server (not yet peer-reviewed) (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.10.14.618366v1)
Unfortunately, it's slightly cryptic title makes it invisible to many readers interested in this subject.
