I'm fully behind your message and intention. I'm a bit skeptical though, about the Medium algorithm's current ability to detect undesirable actions, particularly AI-generated content and reciprocal interactions. I'm using an AI detector to screen responses to my articles, when their tone suggests AI origins. I also use it to check some of the posts of large-pub editors who (a) explicitly (and rightfully) require abstention from AI in their submission guidelines, but who (b) themselves author articles at a rate and content volume that seems in contrast to what is humanely achievable. I observe that my AI detection tool (the same that claims Medium as one of their prime customers) often red-flags these editors' posts as >50% AI-generated. I also observe a degree of reciprocal engagement between those editors and their writers that is almost embarrassing to observe. All this seems to go unnoticed by the algorithm.

I admit, this is a pet peeve of mine, largely because I create my articles with the same due diligence that goes into my medical science papers which need to pass peer-review.

I'm aware that creating and tuning that algorithm is a mammoth task for you and your team. Which is why I wish you all the success and the necessary grit to achieve it and to reign-in the violations that you mentioned. Because that is what sets Medium uniquely apart from other platforms. That's why I'm happy to publish with one relatively small and young publication whose editor ticks all the right boxes in the world of Medium ethics.
