I like your take on the matters you discuss in this post. One comment to the salt topic: between 10-15% of the population is inverse salt sensitive. That is, they respond to too little salt with an increase in blood pressure. I have written about this, and its good to see that you, and, hopefully others notice the fallacy of those one-size-fits-all advice you highlight with your post.
