I generally find Peter Attia's approach to explaining health issues very good, though I may not agree with him on everything. If he does support taking statins at an early age, and based on apoB only, then I disagree. It is rather the apoB/apoA ratio that should be considered, and always in the context of endothelial health, as I outlined in my article. If the latter is in pristine condition, then taking statins will not make much of a difference. My wife, for example, has a hereditary high cholesterol level, shared by most of her siblings. I'm monitoring her vascular age, which is > 20 years below her calendar age of 68. A statin in this scenario is useless. The reason she is so extremely healthy (in terms of vascular health) is that she does a lot of exercise, watches her diet (no choice, if you are married to a health scientist), and never smoked.
